Keeping the record straight
Environmental data is published, revised and quietly overwritten. This is a note on why we keep both readings, and what we do when there is no reading at all.
METHOD
ON THIS BLOG
Every post states its sources and the date each figure was read. Where a source has since changed its published value, both readings are shown. Where no measurement exists, the post says so rather than estimating. Corrections are made in place and marked.
